Children and families
Gabriela is now accepting new child clients.
Gabriela has extensive experience working with children and families across community health, education, and private practice.
Her work with children is child-led and play-based, recognizing that children often express themselves most naturally through play, creativity, and other non-verbal forms of communication. Therapy focuses on understanding each child’s unique experience through their preferred means of expression while fostering a safe, trusting, and respectful therapeutic relationship.
Gabriela views parents and caregivers as essential partners in therapy. Parent sessions run alongside the child’s sessions, providing opportunities to discuss progress, deepen understanding of the child’s emotional and
behavioural needs. Recommendations may include adjustments to family routines, parenting approaches, emotional support strategies, or environmental modifications that promote the child’s wellbeing.
When appropriate, Gabriela collaborates with educators, paediatricians, and other health professionals to develop a shared understanding of the child’s presentation and the underlying factors contributing to their emotional, behavioural, or developmental difficulties. This collaborative approach helps create consistent support across the child’s home, school, and community environments.
Gabriela’s aim is to help children strengthen their emotional resilience and support families in building confident, connected, and responsive relationships.
Adult Therapy
Gabriela works with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. She provides a thoughtful and compassionate therapeutic space where clients can explore patterns in their relationships, understand the impact of past experiences, and develop new ways of responding to current difficulties.
Her approach is grounded in psychodynamic psychotherapy and enriched by principles from systemic family therapy and interpersonal therapy. Treatment is collaborative and tailored to each person’s individual needs, helping clients gain insight, strengthen emotional well-being, and foster lasting personal growth.
Gabriela works with adults presenting with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, adjustment to life transitions, stress, grief and loss, trauma, parenting concerns, and other psychological challenges.
