EPG-Group-services

We are pleased to be have the space to be able to offer group psychology, enabling our clients to experience the unique benefits of therapy in a group format.

Medicare offers 10 rebated sessions for group psychology each calendar year in addition to the 10 rebated sessions offered for individual therapy.

Benefits of Group Therapy:

  • Being part of a cohort overcoming similar challenges. Hearing others share similar experiences can reduce shame, normalise your struggles, increase and maintain motivation to change, and create a powerful sense of connection.
  • Getting out of your echo chamber. Being with and hearing from others pulls you out of your head and into the real world – where different, more nuanced perspectives exist. Great for those who get lost in their thoughts!
  • You get multiple perspectives. Group members often offer reflections, support or questions that might not come up in one-on-one therapy.
  • It builds confidence. Many people grow more self-assured through practicing boundaries, sharing openly, or supporting others — all within the structure of a professionally facilitated space.
  • It’s a microcosm of life. What happens in group can mirror dynamics from your everyday life, offering real-time relational feedback and a space to safely try new ways of being.
  • It’s effective. Research shows that for many concerns — like trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, relationships and self-worth — group therapy is at least as effective as individual therapy.

You don’t need to share right away, and you won’t be pushed — but over time, group can become a rich and transformative experience.Interested? Get in touch to let us know.
