  • Sessions with a clinical psychologist attract a rebate of $149.05.
If you have reached your Medicare Safety Net, you will receive a rebate of 80% of your session fee. You can learn more here:

Self-funded sessions

A referral is not required for a psychological consultation if you choose to self fund. However, a referral from your General Practitioner (GP), Paediatrician or Psychiatrist is required to access Medicare rebates for psychology assessment and treatment sessions.

Private health insurance

Private health insurers may provide partial rebates for psychological counselling as extras cover.  It is recommended that you confirm your level of cover with your insurance provider.

Workers compensation and motor vehicle injury (TAC) claims

Partial psychology consultation fees may be covered in the case of a workers compensation or Motor Vehicle Injury claim. Please consult with your workers compensation insurer or employer for more information.

Cancellation Policy

As per APS recommendations, appointments cancelled with less than 24 business hours notice will incur the full session fee, while those cancelled with 24-48 business hours notice will incur a 50% fee. Additionally, Public Holidays and weekends are not deemed business days’ regardless of if the psychologist you are seeing is working on that day.
